Suri Cruise was born!
After a highly publicized pregnancy, Katie Holmes gave birth to Suri at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica - the same day, place, and time as Brooke Shields.
Immediately, helicopters, cameras, and fans crowded outside the hospital, chanting: “Two, four, six, eight, time for you to open this gate!” When Brooke saw the crowd, she was outraged and complained to the hospital staff that somebody tipped off the media, that’s when a nurse told her: “Honey, it’s not for you.”
Reports claimed that it was a silent birth, adhering to Scientology protocol. Tom allegedly instructed the nurses to give hand signals during the entire process. He said in an interview the following week, “It was everything that we wanted it to be and more. It was really very spiritual.” In the hours after the baby arrived, a black van was spotted heading to Scientology headquarters to confirm the birth.
Immediately after Suri arrived, the hunt for the first picture was in overdrive. One Us Weekly editor told ABC: “This could go from anywhere from $3 [million] to $5 million, depending on the bidding war that ensues.”
As the months passed and there was still no picture, speculation arose that Suri was deformed, or completely fake! The only thing supporting Suri’s existence were testimonies from Tom & Katie’s friends: Will & Jada, Posh, and Penelope Cruz. The first spotting, though, finally came in July when X17Online snapped a picture of her stroller while Katie was vacationing in Telluride:
A month later, X17 snapped another pic, this time actually capturing Suri in TomKat’s Beverly Hills mansion:
But the long awaited first photo came to an end when the couple agreed to pose with Suri for a September Vanity Fair spread!
